Phishing Scam Using Delta Airlines and US Airways

(WDIV-TV) - There are some scam e-mails. I got four of them today and they appear to be coming from an airline.

Ruth: my husband alerted me to this phishing scam that he received, supposedly from Delta Airlines. This is a printout of it. It's made to look like a confirmation of a $200 flight to New Orleans and indicates his form of payment was a credit card. Some of us here at local 4 today received similar phishing e-mails, but these are made to look like U.S. Airways have sent them. Both are phony notification wanting you to click on a link or open an attachment to trick you to giving out year person information. I contacted both airlines and they say they have put alerts on their website. And the better business bureau sent out an alert. The victims are told they have won two plane tickets from either American airlines or U.S. airlines. And U.S. Airlines does not even exist, and American says these e-mails are bogus. The advice is the same, never give out personal information and do not infect your computer with a virus by clicking links or opening any attachments. Delete them and fly away.
